The three and a half hour drive, courtesy of Mike Hays and his brand new Saturn, from Albuquerque through the Colorado Plateau was rain-soaked but highlighted by pre-concert hors d'oevres of champagne apples from Dixon, NM, smoked edam cheese, leftover egg rolls and mixed nuts. The soundtrack included Dylan Live 1966, Bridges to Babylon and some Bob Marley. We arrived in saturated Durango at 7:30, found our tickets waiting at will-call, and strolled into the impressive concert hall, where our good fortune landed us in front row center; obviously the hundred odd other people figured those seats were either too good to be true or they knew we were coming.
A very nice person named Beth Warren from the local public radio station struck up conversation with us when we asked if there would be a door prize for the people who came the farthest for the show.

Seeing as how the venue was perfect, Richard and Danny rose to the occasion. After Al Bowlly (or around there), with much sincerity, Richard asked the audience if we heard what we were expecting!!! It was a warm response, as the two encores would suggest. Every song was memorable. The vocal effects on Genesis Hall, the harmonic lead on SOTL, Danny's solo on Al Bowlly, and the sweet audience harmony on Drunkards were special, but from beginning to end Richard and Danny provided a magnificent two hours of music.
